We were told before coming to Red Deer, Canada that there were loads of great thrift shops to be found here. Yesterday we looked online and found that most of them were on the same (very big) road so off we went. The first shop we found had a sale on - all items 25 cents!! Even after filling our arms with more than we could carry the total bill was only $2.75 so feeling bad we told the nice lady to keep the change, all $2.25 of it. I have never seen anyone look so shocked, like we had just given her our lottery winnings.
At Value Village we found some shoes Daniel has been looking for all year for under $10 (normal price $70) and i got some Tommy H jeans (that are far too small for me) for $5.99 or something similar.
We only managed to visit two shops and even then we need to return to one as we simply couldn't cover the shop floor in the time we had. We haven't done much shopping all year but with my 30th coming up and our flights to Jersey only 9 weeks away, we figure it's about time we collected some travel bargains.
I am loving the approach to Halloween here - everything is BIG and everything is everywhere. We are camping in Jasper NP this weekend (despite the forecast being a mix of snow and rain) but when we get back we will be shopping again but this time for pumpkins. Any design suggestions?
Anna
